not sure my answer is useful in any way. It is a topic that evokes considerable dissonance for me.

it’s hard to know how many of your family were gassed and murdered during the Holocaust and how many have migrated constantly of centuries to escape persecution to watch what is going on on either side

i cannot begin to describe the sense of shame for the zealotry that has unhinged a nation or the horror towards a group that is equally hateful and zealous in the pursuit of their sense of justice

nothing can be justified when it is fed by religious and ethnic intolerance which then deprives it of reason and decency.

meddling by western and most likely Russian interests hardly help as these two groups become a focus for a range of definitions of justice.

this can now only go on for generations or be stopped either by genocide (from which more evil will emerge) or by both sides deciding that endless hatred is pointless.

I honestly weep at the stupidity and cupidity of all this involved
