Gaza has been used as a prison for decades to control and oppress people; not letting them out except to work in Jerusalem as labourers for less money than a road sweeper; to keep them imprisoned as a collective punishment for not being Jewish; to enforce their will over them and to treat them as less than pariah dogs.

this is the very reason that inspires such violence as was seen when Hamas broke though the fence. treat people as humans with respect for their rights and they will be content and not militant.

speaking of which, I can find no takers for the questions that have bothered me since that attack: where were the Israeli military guards to prevent the breach of the fence? and why did it take so long for the IDF to react to the breach?
