If you look at the TGA report debates or stats on vaxxed/unvaxxed deaths, it is clear that anti-vaxxer activists target people with poor numerical literacy by consciously exploiting it in arguments that make no sense.
Take a simple problem. I have 1000 lemon trees and 100 apple trees. Twelve of my lemon trees have a fungus. But only eight of my apple trees have a fungus. What tree is more prone to fungus - lemon trees or apple trees?
Anti-vaxxers target the ones who pick lemon trees, because 12 is more than 8. And there's a shocking amount of those innumerate people making major financial decisions on an investment forum like this.
