There has been speculation in the past about whether stibnite/antimony is difficult to separate from gold and other metals..

Separation is quite easily achieved with an additional flotation circuit to produce a saleable product.

However, to achieve high purity antimony, which is required for some applications, a further refining process is necessary. This has mainly been carried out at Chinese refineries.

A company in the USA is now in the process of redeveloping a processing plant to produce high purity antimony, so Australian producers will probably be able to get the refining done in the USA once that plant comes on line.

For the information of anyone seriously interested in antimony, there are two companies on HC which have antimony deposits in Alaska - FXG and NVA - and posts can from time to time be found on their threads which give useful information about antimony developments in general, and especially in North America, and sometimes in connection with the USA Department of Defense, which is heavily involved in developing critical mineral supplies from sources other than China.
