Yes, after his stint at Mandalay it looks like he’s enjoyed the fruits of labor - I.e. make the connections and then Go out on your own as a consultant.
Not trying to spin this one way or the other - just noting that he clearly has relevant experience from his time at Mandalay.
Also; success at TMG in the short term depends on land access, and little to do with director CVs.
