Well I don't know any company that would invest with a tax loss in mind.If they did they wouldn't last long.
Companies do a very careful risk analysis and many other financial analyses to provide an assurance of success. There are usually many investment options available and companies, if they have investment capital, focus on those most likely to succeed.
