History is written by the victors. Look at the history of colonial powers especially during the colonial period. In dealing with the "noble savages" they effectively destroyed indigenous cultures.
In South Africa now that the white majority are no longer the victors South African history has been completely rewritten, and true to form the liberation movement is losing power and support because it has become corrupt. It will be interesting to see how this affects South African history in future.
