"I'm impressed @wotsup;it appears that you are using other sources other than the Bible."

For definitions of words yes, but Not the net for other peoples advice from the net, of Bible interpretations of the likes of verses etc. LOL.
    ---------------------

Did you read into the quote, that both grace and faith are a gift, not just grace?

"No, I don't. I read that grace is a gift that you don't buy or earn and faith as something that the individual chooses to do."

Eph 2:8 - For by grace you have been saved through = (on account of, by reason of) -> faith, and that not of yourselves; the gift of God,

It appears, as the gift Follows grace AND faith, that the gift covers both?
    But, you maybe right.
    -----------
It said the likes of -> strong in the doctrines of religion, based on spiritual conviction. Spiritual in short, I would suggest the inner you, or as some might say or another term -> heart felt conviction.
    "Decided by the individual?"

Not really 'if' predestination was a fact, you would just be thinking, it is you making the decision lol.
    ---------------
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

That verse to me suggests, something is required = "believe".

"I don't see that as grace because it requires the receiver to do something to qualify namely to believe."

Grace - net -> (in Christian belief) the free and unmerited favour of God, as manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings.

If you consider 3:16, and make a word out of each letter from Grace -> God's Riches At Christ Expense -> to whoever 'believes' in Him = grace.
So, to get the grace = requires believing in Him.
    --------------
    "By contrast...
"Whereas the requirement for faith requires the receiver to do something - show faith."

    I missed a good point you put in one of your posts following;

"If you mean what Jesus taught in...
Love your neighbour where your neighbour includes your enemies.
Do to others as you would like them to do to me.
    Feed the hungry.... etc
I fail miserably but these would be my aspiration."

It is of my opinion, that to believe 'in Jesus', is to take on board all you say here, and all his messages and try and imitate the life of Jesus.
He carries the name -> The Word of God -> representing the entire package of it, is one of the meanings, I see this name representing.
Resulting in, becoming one as He and the Father are one - one in word = Unity in one John 17:20-24.
