Paul wrote to the Greeks, Brothers and sisters, our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea.

Gee, what could he have been referring to?

    1 Corinthians 10:
My guess is that it is an allusion to the 17th century BCE eruption of the Aegean volcano underlying sea-girt Thera (Santorini), that produced a massive mushroom cloud and probably at least one Mediterranean-wide tsunami. The Hebrew Bible does not mention the 17th century BCE Thera eruption or the Hyksos (Gk Uksos), who were midway through their rule of Egypt and Palestine when the eruption of Thera occurred.

However they were mentioned by the Greek-speaking Egyptian priest Manethos in the 3rd century BCE, and by the Greek-speaking Roman-captured Jew Josephus late in the 1st century CE, the latter of who erroneously asserted that Abraham and his descendants down to Joseph formed part of the Hyksos regime and that the Biblical exodus of Moses was the expulsion from Egypt and Palestine of the Hyksos in around 1550 BCE, whence the Egyptian New Kingdom.

So there we have Jewish Josephus also publishing a massive amount of false and misleading information.

Is that what you are thinking?
