For it to be plausible, then all the more reason to highlight the fake stories people tell about this period in history. One fake story that goes unexposed casts doubt on other more genuine accounts.
They should test all those potentially fake stories from Jews in the camp who claim to have spent some of their time swimming in a pool, attending theatre/music productions, and playing football. They aren't helping the prevailing narrative at all.
