What are the symptoms of ‘Deltacron’?Deltacron has been compared to the Delta variant getting a software upgrade, according to Jeremy Kamil, an associate professor of microbiology and immunology at Louisiana State University Health Shreveport.


The hybrid is essentially the Delta variant borrowing Omicron’s invisibility cloak, he said.It’s too soon to know for sure if Deltacron affects humans differently than the separate variants.

But Kamil said it was likely it would behave similarly to Omicron, as that’s where the hybrid’s spike protein comes from.“This is essentially Delta trying to hang on by plagiarising from Omicron,” he said.
