When covid arrived there were many in hospital and a significant number of deaths.
On arrival, vaccines were successful as they reduced symptoms early in the pandemic through to the Delta variant so all adults were advised to vaccinate.
You did the right thing to vaccinate and I expect you would have taken boosters if Omicron didn't arrive.
It's easy to criticize vaccines now we have a less lethal variant but that is only with the benefit of hindsight.
There will be new generation vaccines including tablets soon so one can pick and choose.
I believe maintaining one's vaccine status is worth the trouble for now as we don't yet know if there will be new variants.
