So this is a bizarre one. ANU were reported on the weekend in both the Australian and the AFR as dumping their stocks in a range of resource companies that they considered to have unethical environmental practices....mainly hydrocarbon companies, but also Newcrest, and Sirius, among others. Since then there has been a storm of further web releases by them and others.

Where do they get off making this sort of slur publically to the world? Can we sue them? Here they are painting themselves to be some holier-than-though organisation, who apparently have the right to drop this kind of statement into the market place. Sirius don't even have an operating mine!

ANU also apparently take the position that, although energy use on the planet is more than 80% coal, oil and gas, and there are no economic alternatives, apparently companies that deliver that energy are now Untouchables. What vast hypocrisy.

Here is a version from the Canberra Times: Sirius is reported to be one of the 7 lowest ranked resources companies in terms of social responsibility...excuse me? Will Sirius management will have something to say about this shortly to the market?
