ken i work with chronic disease sufferers. Id try to find two or three different things to mix it up. Deep water running is quite good if one intensely- or swimming for that matter, can get a little boring though.Ask your gp if he thinks its for you.
Also ask your gp if some form of weights training may be of benefit. I train a type 1 diabetic in my chosen(predominantly weight training) sport and he finds it not only manageable but helpful in managing his blood sugars. - cant stress enough though again speak to your gp before embarking on any exercise regime as he will direct you best.
