OK Kincella, my point of view. Generally people with Type2 diabetes have a familial history of it. People may be living in a state of pre-diabetes for many years until they get to point where they fail the fasting and glucose tolerance tests to be diagnosed with Diabetes. Importantly at the pre-diabetic stage much can be done to reduce the stress on our pancreas. Obviously keeping a healthy weight and now more importantly BMI and waist circumference is being more closely monitored. Low GI is not all its cranked up to be, imo, sugar total is sugar total no matter how it is broken down. Fruit must be in small moderation, imo. One banana can contain as much sugar as 8 punnets of strawberries. Alcohol in moderation only as excess can reduce the bodies ability to balance sugar, too much actually dangerously reduces sugar levels! He needs to reduce indulgences to just this, not daily occurances. He is starting to get circulation difficulties, it seems, which is a sign of longer term poor glucose control.

There is a product called circulation booster which can work wonders in some cases for improving circulation to feet and legs, look it up. Also as a supplement look at Chromium which helps the body use sugar better.

    Hope some helps, Cheers Doogs.
