Phylogica (www.phylogica.com) is a publicly listed biotechnology company (ASX: PYC) based at the Telethon Institute of Child Health Research in Perth, Western Australia, that specialises in the discovery and development of protein-based therapeutics. The company is applying its proprietary Phylomer drug discovery platform to develop novel peptide-based therapies for treatment of many clinically important human diseases.
We are seeking a highly motivated scientist who would like to join our exciting drug development programme and fill the position of Bioinformatician. The role would involve analysis of phylomer sequence datasets in collaboration with both peptide/protein modellers and molecular biologists. In addition, the role will involve some aspects of phylomer database development using Filemaker and SQL, working in conjunction with database developers contracted by Phylogica. The ideal candidate would have a PhD in bioinformatics, or equivalent working experience in related areas.
