There a word called 'arbitrage'. It means that when a widget costs a lot more in one place than another, cross-border buying and selling brings it more or less back in to line. Australia has reached a point where arbitrage is starting to kick in. Our cars are twice what the Americans pay, our fuel is 80% dearer, our accountants are charging their clients $200 and hour, but exporting their work to Manila where they pay $5 an hour....and so on.

Its currently unsustainable, and today's modern communications means that arbitrage is a very effective weapon. In our case it takes the form of automation to replace jobs, which we are seeing all the time.

Pick you favourite target to blame, but that won't help because its too late.
