An mCHP replaces a boiler unit and produces heat as a by product to power production..(or the other way round depending how you look at it)

Doesnt 'add on' as you suggest.

Costs about 5000 Euro previous to cost cutting advances of recent times.

Utility companies will probably retain ownership of the actual units anyway so the cost of the unit to the end user isnt so relevant.

Its more about the advantages of localised power/heat production using better fuels (gas over oil).

Maybe you should do some homework.
