any doubt that Labor and the Greens are in bed with Beijing?

The PM called him “The Manchurian Candidate” in parliament.

It’s a nickname that comes from the 1960s film where a political candidate was brainwashed by the Chinese Communist Party to be a sleeper agent during the Cold War.
But what did Labor’s candidate for deputy PM Richard Marles do to earn it?

Here’s a hint, that comes direct from the front page of today’s edition of The Australian:

Deputy Labor leader Richard Marles held 10 meetings with the Chinese embassy or officials in the past five years, at a time when tensions were escalating in the Sino-Australia relationship and the Morrison government was frozen out of contact with Beijing.

At one private meeting, Mr Marles is understood to have indicated to Chinese officials that the countries’ relationship would improve under a Labor government.
Are you still in any doubt that Labor and the Greens are in bed with Beijing?
That’s why Xi Jinping wants a Labor-Greens government.

During the campaign, Anthony Albanese has blamed Australia for the disastrous military pact signed between the CCP and the Solomon Islands, which will put a Chinese military base closer to Brisbane than Perth.
His partner in crime, Greens “peace and disarmament spokesman” Jordon Steele-John, said it was “actually racist” to criticise the CCP-Solomons deal, drawing praise directly from Beijing.

He also said China wasn’t a threat to Australia.

What planet are these people living on?
But here’s the tip – they aren’t just ignorant of the bloody obvious, they have chosen a policy of weakness and appeasement.
In 2019 – after the last election – Marles flew to Beijing and called for Australia to forge “closer military ties” with China.
He celebrated the CCP’s expansion into the Pacific – including the Solomon Islands – saying “that was and has been a good thing”.

And you know as well as I do that it was the Labor Premier of Victoria “Dictator Dan” Andrews who signed the Belt and Road infrastructure deal with Beijing.

Labor and the Greens will always take the side of the Chinese Communist Party.
They put self-interest ahead of the national interest every time.
But you and I need to get set because when we wake up on the Sunday morning after the election, there is every chance Richard Marles will be deputy PM in a Labor-Greens government.

What’s worse, he could be defence minister.

We need to brace for impact, because that would be a disaster for our country."
