any excel experts out there?

I must have pressed the function key and 'something' in error.

Now when holding down the ctrl button and selecting various cells they are not appearing with the dark border around the cells selected. Instead a VERY faint shading appears and a thin border only around the last cell I have selected.

Anyone know how I can correct/fix whatever i did to cause this.
