In accordance with ASX Listing Rule 17.1, BlueScope Steel Limited (BlueScope Steel)
requests a trading halt in BlueScope Steel's ordinary securities listed on ASX from the
commencement of trading on Thursday, 15 December 2011 (ASX code: BSL).
In accordance with Listing Rule 17.1, BlueScope advises as follows:
1. the trading halt is necessary to enable a bookbuild process to be undertaken in relation
to the securities not taken up under the retail component of the entitlement offer being
conducted by BlueScope Steel and for the bookbuild to take place in an orderly fashion;
2. BlueScope Steel wishes the trading halt to last until commencement of normal trading
on Monday, 19 December 2011 unless BlueScope Steel makes an announcement
concerning the outcome of the bookbuild contemplated in 1 above before that time or,
requests that the trading halt be lifted;
