Thought I'd start a new thread to gain some ideas from the super experts here as to their expectations regarding the threatened/possible changes in the up coming budget relating to SMSF's. I need to make some personal decisions pre 30th June as a high income earner/partner has been offered retrenchment after 18 years and can take it soon or in Dec.
Given that there is some large amounts of money involved (redundancy payments, cash components for leave etc)I thought it mat be beneficial to take this pre 1st july to take any risk out of possible increased taxation rates to money rolling into our SMSF, salary sacrificing, etc. I know there is no guarantees that they wont be retrospective but I doubt it (the possible changes)and I may also be jumping at shadows but i swould appreciate your ideas as to what the government may do post 30th June.
Thanks in advance.
