The uranium spot price jumped $4 (U.S.) last week to $49 a pound, according to industry consultant TradeTech. After soaring above $130 a pound in 2007, the spot price for uranium concentrate, which is used to make fuel for nuclear reactors, appears to have bottomed at about $42 a pound.
