Any ideas on Portfolio re-allocation

By now the horse has well and truly bolted and most of us have suffered heavy losses. For those starting on a clean slate, it is a great opportunity. But what about the rest of us? We would presumably have to invest double the value of our holdings to firstly recoup lost book profits and then make use of this opportunity. This requires lots of nerves and even more money.

Another approach is to re-organise the cupboard. Sell stocks unlikely to prosper in the short to medium term and reallocate to sectors that are likely to do well.

    Some questions:
    1. This would require taking an enormous loss over 50% in some cases. Does this make sense?
    2. Thoughts on ANZ, NAB, WBC, CBA, SUN, TLS, BHP, WPL?
    3. Thoughts on the REIT sector?
    4. What sectors to move out at even if it means a 40 to 50% loss?
    5. Re-invest only in ETF's in the medium term assuming they are better equipped to make buy/sell decisions? Wison funds, Beta shares, iShares, black rock etc?

    Any thoughts? @Tinwins @peejay2
