BKP accumulated losses $48m makes it valuable company as well funnily enough.
Also access to that 25% share of Statoil-PFC project area is also a interesting cookie to any large company wanting to take a slice off Statoil's loaf as it were.
I suspect Statoil wouldn't want BKP selling its 25% interest to a Statoil competitor, this along with the accumulated losses could be an interesting vehicle for another company's in to the project. So BKP may have a little leverage there. Not to mention its 75% share with possible conventional reserves.
Maybe BKP should openly meet with another major player.
