Ac with their compatriots over at the AWB I would expect that things are far from rosey within Elders rural loans book.
Asset prices (particularly land) are in freefall, wide swaths of farming areas have been canned again from falling commofity prices or no rain, or too much rain, or frost etc.
And all the good loans business is being done by Rabobank, NAB and the other banking majors.
Thats leaving FCL and AWB as effectively lenders of last resort - a role they seem to have been happy to walk into in recent years.
I wonder how good their lending teams are at analysing the risk?
I'd be careful.....
