Don't know much about coal, but I have been having a browse anyway.
It's amazing how little $/ton coal resource trades at. E.g. GUF with an EV of about $300m and a JORC resource of 1Bt implying 30c/ton or essentially nothing relative to the price of coal.
Reinforces the point that resources are cheap. It is the infrastructure and proven mining ability that the market values.
