I used native ginger that was growing wild on the property at the time. I also used leaves from plants that i put in which where a different Australian native variety.I used skewers to hold the folded leaves together.

Another Tree/large shrub is lemon Aspen [Achronychia acidula],which is actually native to Nth Qld and very popular bush tucker for its aromatic and acidic flavours.
