Yoda,
Coking coal needs to be devolatalised (have its volatile matter removed) as part of the production of metallurgical coke. Coke is used in the blast furnace. Because high grade anthracite is ultra low volatile matter and high carbon, it can displace a portion of the coke in the blast furnace, therefore indirectly reducing the amount of coking coal required (to produce coke). PCI is in theory a similar substitute, and anthracite can also be used in a PCI process, however it is not quite the same process as coke substitution. FSI is not relevant to anthracite. The important factors in anthracite are size fraction (larger lump size is much more valuable), ash (after washing), sulphur, phosporus and nitrogen. Ultra low vols is a given, as is high carbon.
Sometimes anthracite is blended with coking coal, however that is a different story again and relates to bumping carbon content or averaging down vols.
Geos are geos, you need to talk to coal marketing guys coal metallurgy people with Vietnam, North Korea or Russian coal experience to get the right information.....OR MAYBE THE COMPANY COULD DO SOME MARKETING!
