Boring? I don't think so. The acceptance of low standards from auditors and the resultant consequences are certainly not boring in my humble opinion.
Combine lax audit standards with unscrupulous management and you have a trail of destruction that has real consequences for real people.
Being indifferent to the consequences as demonstrated by the meagre fine and lack of pursuit of the cowboys that were responsible speaks volumes for the the people who are supposed to be regulating the standards of our public companies.
