With the number of options esg has going at the moment, I'm starting to think it may well be better for them to go it alone - or with an asian backer.
ESG has trillions of cubic feet of gas, "A north west shelf" in NSW.
It can export gas through Newcastle or pipe it north to a host of projects squawking for gas and it has a potentially huge domestic market.
ESG has strong management with fantastic technical ability and is going from strength to strength.
Anyone who thinks they are going to make a low-ball offer and have esg and its shareholders racing to sell their shares is kidding themselves.
Any offer - if it comes - had better be good, otherwise I think we'll just say "thanks, but not thanks".
