BnB insiders supposedly own 40% of it ? Wonder if any of them have margin loans against their holdings. With ANZ. Sounds nasty.
Its not just the current shareholders being forced to sell. Blocking margin lending is a big disincentive to a lot of bargain hunters from buying the stock.
Suppose one is a solvent, diversified margin loan investor with no shortage of margin:
For a dollar of additional capital, you can buy $3 worth of other depressed blue-chips. Or you can only buy $1 worth of BnB if the margin lender has taken it off the security list. That situation makes buying the BnB very unattractive, even if you think it is oversold and/or good fundamental value.
