The term "Smart money" is a collective term for Investment banks, Hedge funds, Trading syndicates and so forth. There is no one group called the "Smart money", rather a term for the larger traders that have the means, and money, to control and move any market.

Myself, Mitta and quite a few others on here a students of the Wyckoff method. Tom Williams, VSA creator from the Wyckoff method ofcourse, was a chartist for a trading syndicate. He was the one to coin the term "Smart money". Wyckoff preferred the term "Composite trader", both essentially meaning the same thing...
