Not to mention the fact that they weren't Chinese playez....but never let those trivial nationality facts get in the way of a good story.....the family you refer to is Indian. If you were spinning the conspiracy theory based on the fact that someone was protecting the reputation of a Singapore based company and thus the reputation of Singapore itself I would be supporting your theory as national pride is high. As it is for settling a dispute between two foreign entities neither of which is listed on the SGX this is exactly what this little country of Singapore wants a reputation for - they strive to be the Switzerland of Asia, hence recently Kim/Trump etc. Frankly it wouldn't be worth your life to be found to be jepordizing that reputation....so I dont buy it at all.
