    "Chief Richard Talu said the previous mining operation done by Axiom and Sumitomo mining companies has brought in hatred and separation among landowners."

    This does not mean the landowners hate Axiom, it means that they hate the way each group was treated differently. You could say that they hate the Sumitomo deal and all would love to be under the Axiom deal.
