Have you tried some of Bill Chambers' old muscats & tokays. (Rutherglen)
The man is/was as nutty as a fruit cake and made some lamentable reds but, boy, could he make some brilliant fortifieds.
He had one tokay that had a 50 year old base and he just kept topping it up each year with his latest batch and only sold a limited quantity (half bottles) at the cellar door so it kept a really rich fabulous texture..haven't been up there for a few years but still have one half of a half bottle left for very very special occasional sips.
