I completely disagree with the use of margin been risky, if of course its managed right and used to your own advantage.

Using margin (in particular in a day trading scenario), offers extra equity to maximise positions in turn maximising profits.

When you focus on such small margins in each position you take, the more positions allows for more of these small margin profits.

Risk? yeh sure you could take a large position in a company which goes into a trading halt and then releases a dire result causing a huge fall..However, its all about managing your position sizes (even with the leverage!)

I trade all day with margin.. yeh, you do get the mum and dad investors rolling an eye or two at you as they are back at work after the GFC because they were caught in this exact scenario.

My point is..if your comfortable trading your own money and its works, your obviously ok with managing risk. So by increasing your equity and exposure, why cant this same set of skills be applied?

Its each to their own in this game.. do what you feel most comfortable with.

My broker is FP Markets. Before that it was Comsec and Macquarie Prime.

    Cheers
    Kevi
