In 1974 I worked for Nabalco at Gove NT for six months.
I was just a general hand, but with the long hours and penalty rates I grossed about $400 a week.
I think that equates to about $3,000 a week in todays money. I know I could not believe it at the time though the tax took about half so it only was worth working half the year and then collecting a big tax refund.
