I pinched this post from TS ... thanks to platz ____________________________________________ Found this quote on the official website of Czech Minister Martin Rima that he made in an interview on 17/1/07. Clearly shows his personal opinion towards nuclear power and in turn one would think Uranium mining:
HN: How important will nuclear power be in the future?
It’s our only option. Not just for us, but the whole of Europe. Europe is a densely populated place where biofuels are not capable of covering energy needs. We do not have sources of gas or oil. Coal—mining meets — quite understandably — with protests from the local population. No other source other than nuclear energy is in sight at the moment.
HN: But according to the three—party coalition agreement no more nuclear power plants should be built…
If I were an autocrat, I would build them. But I’m just one of eighteen members of government and I respect what is enshrined in the coalition agreement. ----------
