Dunno about an awesome movie but fer sure an awesome story. All the names have been changed and the time reset about a decade earlier - maybe the movie had copyright issues who knows. In the movie Bre-X is Washoe - Felderhof is renamed Wells - de Guzman renamed Acosta. There was an interesting scene that quickly flicked past and I was not sure if it was meant to have significance. At about the 50min mark a group of 3 NY brokers was standing knee deep in the river in Borneo trying to pan gold - nobody saw any gold till Wells plucked out a 6mm nugget. So easy to do that. That was the time for the brokers to be suspicious. If a nugget could be plucked out then a cheap sluice should have paid OK and provided a cash flow. But if that was true the natives would have been all over it for yonks - the place would have been a moonscape - they are not stupid. So if you think about it - either the movie was flawed there or the NY guys were easily conned.
