Went to VCAT a few years ago now for not being given a bond back and leading early. Won. Got bond back and put in a counter claim of housing being uninhabitable for a period of time due to a paling on the deck breaking and not being repaired. Got 4 months rent compensation on top of the bond. Got the bond but the landlord, who was a Dutch so and so, never paid the compensation (overseas resident). A moral Victory in the very least if anything.
