That's one of the main reasons I moved to Italy (apart from my girlfriend had to return). I had a good job in Australia but just couldn't keep up with continued rising expenses, and I didn't have an extravagant lifestyle either.
You mention Australia's running out of land, then why has Italy got several times less land and 3 times the population and yet has property prices lower than Australia (talking livable land)?
