    Could it be smart money selling in anticipation of lower priced gold shares later this year, when they can buy them back at a cheaper price?

    Do not assume it is a conspiracy. Smart money knows what it is doing. The rising AUD also means that overseas investors have made profits on our goldies even if the share price is flat or falling slightly so why not take some of the table.

    loki (Disclosure: I am pretty dumb money and keep getting my head butted by Mr Market and still cannot learn a new trick. Go gold in USDs while production costs escalate in AUDs.)
