You definitely could be right there... Although the shorting on gold stocks has been ongoing for quite a while now... some upwards of 12 months.
As an example if you look at some of our big goldies like AGO,DOM,KGN,OGC,PRU etc etc none of these have actually gone up in price from 6-12 months ago.. in fact some of them have actually been in decline.

Also the gold index XGD is in the exactly the same position now as it was in september last year... so it hasnt moved in 7 months.

I've hedged my bets both ways with selling down half of my gold stocks that have performed well and sitting on the sidelines for a bit with cash in hand...
