Pyramid building society in Geelong went bust, a huge thing, a massive thing at that time, yet the treasurer Rob Jolley said everything was okay. The smarties got out, it decimated many punters for life. The state was literally a rust belt, small and medium sized manufacturing businesses went bust.
This is potentially much, much worse if the numbers are correct, and I think they are.
