Further to your query in the Mods room just now, I think duplicates are created/occur when you go back to your post using the 'back' button in your browser after you have already hit the 'post message' button.
You could x-check this with Admin via the 'Contact Support' link at the bottom of your screen if you like; but this is what I'm finding to be the case with my own duplicate posts. It never used to happen before, but does now for some reason or another.
Just my 2c worth fwiw anyways!
