Quote from today's news:
There have been a number of questions over the past few weeks from shareholders asking about SARS...
Is SARS really still a threat, and is it transmitted in the air?...
From all the evidence that is available, “respiratory droplets” spread SARS. This is droplets of moisture, mucus etc that contain the virus. And this is the way that transmission occurs. Exactly what the percentage of transmission is through the airborne route compared with contact transmission is uncertain. Talking to the Chinese scientists, their conclusion was that approximately 80% of cases were by the airborne route.
My interpretation (which may be wrong) of the carefully worded quote above is that SARS and related organisms need moisture to survive and ANY air filtering system that DRIES the air would defend against SARS distribution. Respiratory droplets would spread SARS directly between people in a room, but not through a filtered ducting system.
It still seems to be a great product and AFT has a bright future.
I do not hold AFT
Cheers,
Gary
