My pessimism is due to global deflation, an inability of the government to lift aggregate demand, end of the mining boom, decreasing divies and profits from the banks, rigging of the ASX through BOTs and algos by big instos. Look at how far the Index has climbed recently.
Having said that you have to put your money somewhere hence, my quarterly investment in VHY. Getting dividends and hope for a capital gain.
