Is anyone on these boards investing in UK property? Average house price is 150k sterling (about 200 AUD), so much cheaper than here. In some areas rental yields are very good, and cash positive.
We are thinking of buying one over there, and paying it off in a couple of years to get positive cashflow (quicker to pay off than an australian house) We then envisage using that income to overpay another one on an aggressive repayment mortage, and then another etc....
Does anyone on these boards invest using a similar model - of positive cashflow to accelarate paying investments down?
I'm not particularly expecting capital gain (though would love that too), more would like to build up a portfolio over next twenty years that will provide an income when we are retired.
Would be interested to hear what models people use....
