That is a long standing debate and seems to be covered by so many of the real estate writers over the years. I must confess like Malaga I have always eyed cap gains in Australia as the predeterminant however whilst working the income has never been an issue. As I get older maybe that was not a good idea. As with all investing we all have our parameters, mine has been cap growth but that suited my profile.
